About me
I developed a love of good tasty food and cooking at a very early age, and haven't looked back since! It's very important to me to eat healthily and also to enjoy my food, so I'm constantly experimenting and developing recipes and meal ideas. I have become a lazy cook, so shortcuts are my speciality! But I make no shortcuts on flavour or nutritional value, so it's win-win.
Various health issues including PMS, arthritis, the effects of cancer treatment and a subsequent diagnosis of osteoporosis have led me to explore food as a way of treating and supporting myself.
In the last couple of years I've taken up running - mainly to support my bone health, as I wasn't doing any weight bearing exercise. I've come to love it, and that has led to me wanting to share that love of movement and physical capability, so now I run a couple of outdoor exercise classes, specifically aimed at those of us who really feel they 'should' move more, but don't fancy the gym or other options.

I qualified in Nutritional Therapy in 2011 after 3 years' study, and regularly attend additional training. I regularly take part in Continuous Professional Development.
Prior to this I ran the Lewes Farmers' Market for 4 years, and have organised environmental events and art exhibitions. I have a keen interest in local, sustainable food and wrote the Friendly Vegetable Book, which you can download below. PLEASE NOTE: when I wrote this book it recommended vegetable oils, which I would not recommend now - please swap all oils used for Olive Oil, Butter, Lard, Animal fat or Coconut Oil.
I organised the Feel Good Health Fair in Lewes in 2013, a small event which was well received.
I am a qualified teacher and Bowen Therapist

This is a book I wrote in 2003 as part of a project by the Food & Health Partnership and Common Cause Cooperative. It's full of recipes incorporating lots of vegetables in everyday dishes and was designed to help families eat more local, seasonal vegetables. The only thing I would say about it now is that I would never recommend vegetable oils, so please ignore this when mentioned in a recipe and swap for olive oil, butter, coconut oil or animal fat.
